The Silas Marcellus Family Residence

(This building might still exist on Mill Street [formerly McKay Street portion] as a private residence)

This building was constructed from a former small house moved to the location then enlarged to make the present house. Silas MARCELLUS married Susan BAXTER. [Not in any particular order] The children were: Chester, Peter, Frank, Minnie (Mrs. William ELLIOT), and Addie (Mrs. Salem COONS).

A visitor to Morewood.net provided this information regarding Frank:
Franklin Silas Marcellus (b. 1879-d.10-25-1953)was also a child of Silas & Susan Baxter Marcellus. He married Essie Baker(b. 10-10-1889-d. 3-16-1964) They were married in Morewood and lived in Finch before moving to the US 3-7-1927.
It was also mentioned that Franklin was a professional Lacrosse player

When Mr & Mrs Horatio LOUCKS first arrived in Morewood in 1900, they lived with Mrs. MARCELLUS. By this time Silas had already passed on.
